This is the 10th year for this annual fundraiser for the Brewers of PA and PA Restaurant & Lodging Association scholarship fund.
Chef Bob Roebuck CEC is requesting chefs from our chapter to assist him at the food bank to work with the various agencies that receive food bank to work with their cooks to show them simple recipes so they can take back with them to help feed the people that come to their locations. The agencies will send several of their people to work with us in the kitchen to try to help them in their particular food service program.

In December we ask all members to bring a couple dozen Christmas cookies to the December meeting that is then taken to the Ronald McDonald House for their .

Many Chef’s from the chapter work with PA Preferred & Giant Food Stores at the annual PA Preferred Culinary Connection demonstration stage. PA Preferred is looking to feature chefs of local restaurants that promote the use of PA products.

The annual
Central Chapter Golf Outing raises funds for three organizations: The State Police’s Camp Cadet program,
the ACF Harrisburg Chapter,
and the PRLA’s Scholarship Fund.
This scholarship fund is for students enrolled in a foodservice, lodging, and/or management programs.
The 31st annual outing is scheduled for
Monday, October 18th, 2021 at the Hershey Country Club.
Come out and help prepare the meal or enter a team for a round of golf for a great cause!
The Harrisburg Chapter has several members that serve on the board for the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of PR&LA.
PR&LA is a great source of information on state regulations and law on the food service industry and also offers ServSafe classes.
PR&LA and ACF Harrisburg have a very strong relationship and do many joint activities together throughout the year.

ProStart’s industry-driven curriculum provides real-world educational opportunities and practical skills to open doors for fulfilling careers in the restaurant and foodservice industry. The curriculum teaches all facets of the industry, as well as provides students with on-the-job experiences where they can apply their classroom knowledge in real world situations.
The National ProStart Invitational, held each spring, showcases the talent of the top ProStart students as they compete in culinary and management events. Annually, more than $1 million in scholarships are awarded to the top five teams in both events from NRAEF and attending colleges.
The Pennsylvania ProStart Invitational, held each winter, is our state’s qualifier for the national competition. ProStart schools across the state are invited to send teams of 2-5 students to compete in the culinary and management events. The first place winning team in each division moves on to represent Pennsylvania at the National ProStart Invitational.
The sixth annual Pennsylvania ProStart Student Invitational was held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, State College, PA.

Educational culinary, pastry arts, & hospitality facilities are always looking for members to sit on their advisory boards. These boards usually meet two times a year and are given opportunities to present demonstrations, judge competitions, advise instructional staff, and evaluate state testing exams (NOCTI). All make a huge positive impact on young culinarians’ lives.
